wow. We never thought we'd see the day when the Jordan X would fly from the Crooked Tongues store, but we're glad to
see its popularity ascend like a leap from the shoe's namesake. For years we had a couple of OG pairs in the store's
inventory, gathering dust, but something happened over the last 12 months...we don't know if it was the free global
shipping or escalating globalisation of sports footwear (it's probably both), but something went crazy. We understood
the success of the excellent Chicagos, but the Old Royal edition few out almost as fast — that's when we knew
something was up. From the shoe's steel-coloured debut with the toecap that was wisely scrapped to recent months,
this model was one for those in the know, whereas the cutoff for wider AJ interest seemed to be part VIII. Now we're
in a whole new world of hype.
When the X dropped in Shadow form as a doublepack with an XIII in early 2008, it was the best of a year of
doublepacks...but not many people seemed to care. The Shadow's a classic too — the check lining, grey and black mix,
plus the red Jumpman detailing was always a great Jordan makeup. These Stealth versions of the Jordan 10 adher to the
winning formula of Stealth colourways in the series and we're sure we saw Kanye wearing a pair a few months back
(that in itself is guaranteed to prime the hype trigger) and they're not massively dissimilar to the Shadows, but
that white and grey on the outsole cuts through the gloom, and the grey details plus the extra black and nubuck
textures on the upper make quite a difference. Folks that appreciate a classic design in a respectful new colourway
and the Rick Owens brigade alike will take to this one with ease and (pending any changes) they drop in the Crooked
